July 4th Pancake Breakfast

Posted by jlash on Jun 14 2022 - 12:46pm

The 4th of July is coming and so is the annual Lions Club 4th of July Pancake Breakfast. For many many years Steamboat Scouts have been assisting the Lions Club in putting on this awesome community event. Not only is this a great opportunity for Scouts to serve our community but it is also a chance for the Cub Scouts to earn money for the Pack. The breakfast will be moving back to Little Toots Park this year. We encourage adults to join their Scouts in helping out. Adult hours will count alongside Scout hours towards earning for the Pack. The cleanup shift will count for double hours for Scout and adult as this shift is the most fun and rewarding. We ask that all Scouts and Leaders wear full Class A uniforms for the two shifts during the breakfast.

Please go to the following link to sign up.

The shifts are as follows:
Sun 7/3 - Concordia Lutheran Church, 4pm - 5pm, loading chairs and tables into the trailer
Mon 7/4 - Little Toots Park, 5:30-7:30 am, setup tables and chairs, serving food and bussing tables. WEAR CLASS A
Mon 7/4 - Little Toots Park, 7:30-10 am, serving food, bussing tables, and breakdown of tables and chairs. WEAR CLASS A
Mon 7/4 - Concordia Lutheran Church, unload tables and chairs, cleanup of dishes. DOUBLE HOURS

Year Wrap-up and Summer Plans

Posted by jlash on Jun 8 2022 - 3:51pm

With the end of the school year comes the end of our regular Scouting schedule. All parents should check their progress in Scout Book to make sure that their accomplishments are recorded. Please work on your own to fill in any requirements you may have missed, and notify your Den Leader so they can approve them. We hope to be able to have some Summer activities, so keep an eye out for emails about upcoming Planning Meetings! If you have any suggestions for opportunities for summer activities, please reach out! Have a great summer!

Thanks to everyone who was able to participate in the Rocket Launch event this week! I'm not sure if the kids or the parents had more fun? There is a photo album of the event here -- please feel free to add to it!

Posted by jlash on May 28 2022 - 3:33pm

Our friends at Routt County Search & Rescue are hosting a Family Fun Day on Saturday June 4th at Howelsen Hill! There will be fun games, and outdoor skills training, plus they will have their rescue equipment and will be doing a helicopter landing! If that's not enough, there's also hot dogs and it's all free! It will be at the Beach Volley Ball court and Vanatta Field from 11 - 2.  Hope to see you there! See the attached flier for more details.

Fundraising Results

Posted by jlash on May 24 2022 - 8:24pm

Our Spring Fund Raising push has concluded, and we've managed to collect $1594 in donation, plus $842 in sales. This goes a long way in helping keep Scouting going! A big thanks to all our Scouts and families who helped, and to Ace Hardware for being such a great host! If you took any camp cards, chocolate bars, or jerky to sell individually, please notify Eric Nance of your results and coordinate to return any surplus.

Rocket Launch May 25th

Posted by jlash on May 18 2022 - 9:34pm

We'll be hosting our annual Rocket Launch on May 25th at the Strawberry Park Elementary School. Since they installed artificial turf on the athletic fields, we'll be launching from the field behind the school, instead. If anyone still needs rocket kits, please contact me to make arrangement. See the calendar event for more details!
