We will be meeting at 6PM at Sleeping Giant on September 7th! This will be our regular meeting location for the year, so thanks to Sleeping Giant for permitting us to use the space. Our first meeting will focus on welcoming new Scouts and reuniting our returning Dens. We will help all our new scouts earn their Bobcat rank while making sure everyone is registered. We'll also have a quick parents' meeting to make sure we have leaders assigned for any new Dens.
The 4th of July is coming and so is the annual Lions Club 4th of July Pancake Breakfast. For many many years Steamboat Scouts have been assisting the Lions Club in putting on this awesome community event. Not only is this a great opportunity for Scouts to serve our community but it is also a chance for the Cub Scouts to earn money for the Pack. The breakfast will be moving back to Little Toots Park this year. We encourage adults to join their Scouts in helping out. Adult hours will count alongside Scout hours towards earning for the Pack. The cleanup shift will count for double hours for Scout and adult as this shift is the most fun and rewarding. We ask that all Scouts and Leaders wear full Class A uniforms for the two shifts during the breakfast.
The shifts are as follows: Sun 7/3 - Concordia Lutheran Church, 4pm - 5pm, loading chairs and tables into the trailer Mon 7/4 - Little Toots Park, 5:30-7:30 am, setup tables and chairs, serving food and bussing tables. WEAR CLASS A Mon 7/4 - Little Toots Park, 7:30-10 am, serving food, bussing tables, and breakdown of tables and chairs. WEAR CLASS A Mon 7/4 - Concordia Lutheran Church, unload tables and chairs, cleanup of dishes. DOUBLE HOURS
On Sunday, October 16 we will have a bake sale fundraiser at Ace from 9am-5pm. This will be a great opportunity for us to earn money for the Pack while our Cub Scouts sell baked goods to Ace customers and the community. Please visit the SignUpGenius page to register for a time slot.
Join Pack 194 at Stagecoach State Park on Saturday September 17th! We'll be meeting at noon at the Keystone Picnic area. Ski Town Lions Club will be hosting a picnic lunch. The park is home to over 200 species of birds, so at 2PM the Rangers will guide a birding hike along Pinnacle Peak Trail. Please bring a light day pack with your hiking essentials, and if you have them bring some binoculars!
Families are free to arrive early or stick around late to enjoy the lake! The Rangers are able to provide free fishing equipment and bait. The Marina rents out canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and more. And there's a beach area!
Den Leaders: feel free to see if any of your groups achievement requirements can be met during these activities! We'll set aside some time during Lunch to meet with your dens to work on any activities you see fit.
