Our Spring Fund Raising push has concluded, and we've managed to collect $1594 in donation, plus $842 in sales. This goes a long way in helping keep Scouting going! A big thanks to all our Scouts and families who helped, and to Ace Hardware for being such a great host! If you took any camp cards, chocolate bars, or jerky to sell individually, please notify Eric Nance of your results and coordinate to return any surplus.
The Scouts did a great job raising funds for the pack at Ace this Saturday! They enjoyed handing out hotdogs and dog treats, and managed to collect nearly $400 in donations, plus $250 in sales! Our fund raising push only has 2 weekends left, and this weekend is our last day at Ace. Please RSVP for a slot if you can!
The 4th of July is coming and so is the annual Lions Club 4th of July Pancake Breakfast. For many many years Steamboat Scouts have been assisting the Lions Club in putting on this awesome community event. Not only is this a great opportunity for Scouts to serve our community but it is also a chance for the Cub Scouts to earn money for the Pack. The breakfast will be moving back to Little Toots Park this year. We encourage adults to join their Scouts in helping out. Adult hours will count alongside Scout hours towards earning for the Pack. The cleanup shift will count for double hours for Scout and adult as this shift is the most fun and rewarding. We ask that all Scouts and Leaders wear full Class A uniforms for the two shifts during the breakfast.
The shifts are as follows: Sun 7/3 - Concordia Lutheran Church, 4pm - 5pm, loading chairs and tables into the trailer Mon 7/4 - Little Toots Park, 5:30-7:30 am, setup tables and chairs, serving food and bussing tables. WEAR CLASS A Mon 7/4 - Little Toots Park, 7:30-10 am, serving food, bussing tables, and breakdown of tables and chairs. WEAR CLASS A Mon 7/4 - Concordia Lutheran Church, unload tables and chairs, cleanup of dishes. DOUBLE HOURS
Scouting works best in-person and the COVID era has made this a challenge. Our scouts started making their Pine Wood Derby cars in 2019, but the race was canceled due to the lock-downs. After a 2-year hiatus, we're finally able to get together for some racing! To mark the occasion, we'll be inviting the community to participate in the 2022 Pine Wood Derby! Cars kits will be available at the Solar Flare Glass Shop @ 635 Lincoln Ave (upstairs next to Corner Slice). Please invite your friends and help get the word out!
See our Pine Wood Derby page for the most up-to-date details regarding the race! To get started, stop by Solar Flare Glass Shop @ 635 Lincoln Ave (upstairs next to Corner Slice) and pick up a car kit! We'll have some pre-made cars at the race, as well.
