July 4th Pancake Breakfast

Posted on Jun 14 2022 - 12:46pm

The 4th of July is coming and so is the annual Lions Club 4th of July Pancake Breakfast. For many many years Steamboat Scouts have been assisting the Lions Club in putting on this awesome community event. Not only is this a great opportunity for Scouts to serve our community but it is also a chance for the Cub Scouts to earn money for the Pack. The breakfast will be moving back to Little Toots Park this year. We encourage adults to join their Scouts in helping out. Adult hours will count alongside Scout hours towards earning for the Pack. The cleanup shift will count for double hours for Scout and adult as this shift is the most fun and rewarding. We ask that all Scouts and Leaders wear full Class A uniforms for the two shifts during the breakfast.

Please go to the following link to sign up.

The shifts are as follows:
Sun 7/3 - Concordia Lutheran Church, 4pm - 5pm, loading chairs and tables into the trailer
Mon 7/4 - Little Toots Park, 5:30-7:30 am, setup tables and chairs, serving food and bussing tables. WEAR CLASS A
Mon 7/4 - Little Toots Park, 7:30-10 am, serving food, bussing tables, and breakdown of tables and chairs. WEAR CLASS A
Mon 7/4 - Concordia Lutheran Church, unload tables and chairs, cleanup of dishes. DOUBLE HOURS

Stagecoach State Park Birding Hike and Picnic

Posted on Sep 14 2022 - 6:53pm

Join Pack 194 at Stagecoach State Park on Saturday September 17th! We'll be meeting at noon at the Keystone Picnic area. Ski Town Lions Club will be hosting a picnic lunch. The park is home to over 200 species of birds, so at 2PM the Rangers will guide a birding hike along Pinnacle Peak Trail. Please bring a light day pack with your hiking essentials, and if you have them bring some binoculars!

Families are free to arrive early or stick around late to enjoy the lake! The Rangers are able to provide free fishing equipment and bait. The Marina rents out canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and more. And there's a beach area!

Den Leaders: feel free to see if any of your groups achievement requirements can be met during these activities! We'll set aside some time during Lunch to meet with your dens to work on any activities you see fit.

Please keep in mind that Stagecoach State Park does charge a $9/car entrance fee. This is waived for any Colorado State Park Pass holders ($80/year, available online or at the CO Parks & Wildlife office in front of The Ponds). Car-pooling is encourage!

Directions to the Keystone Picnic Area:

From County Road 18, enter the park via the Entrance Station
Continue to the T and turn right
Keystone Day-Use Area will be the 3rd turn on your left

More information about the Park is available here: https://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/Stagecoach

* Note: I've been told the Marina is having issues with their phone system, but they are very responsive to email!
